The new process does not require business owners to check that the NAME is available before the business can be registered. The CIPC will check the name against existing registered businesses and reject the names that are too similar.
Once one of the proposed names has been approved a FORM CoR9.4 will be issued to the customer who filed the NAME reservation. Once the CoR9.4 has been issued, such may be used in REGISTERING Anew company or co-operative or changing the company, close corporation or co-operative name by filing it with the required documents.
We reserve a name for your business using CIPC system. By doing so you will be informed of its availability.
Begin by checking that your company name is able to be reserved. For example, the name you choose can't be identical or almost identical to another company name. It can't be offensive or contain certain words that are restricted or protected by other legislation.
Whether you are applying for a name to incorporate a company or to change a name for an existing company, the process is the same. It costs R150 to reserve a name.
You must use the name to incorporate a new company or change the name of an existing company within 20 working days.
If you find you are running out of time to use your reserved name – on either the 19th or the 20th working day you can extend your name reservation. This will give you another 20 working days in which to complete the incorporation.
We will need Four (4) Consecetive different names
Any company may be registered with or without a company name. If a reserved name is not included in the initial application, the company will be registered with its enterprise number. A name may be added at a later stage through a name amendment. A name amendment requires an approved name reservation and a special resolution to effect a change to the Memorandum of Incorporation (MOI). Hosting
